![]() He did things like cook for her, brushed her hair, bathed her and more. He knew early on that he loved her and though sometimes he wanted to hurt her, more often than not he treated her like a pampered princess. I must say though, I liked the dynamic between Peter and Sara. So despite her protestations, the intimacy happens and is justified because she technically wanted it even though she said she didn’t. There always seems to be the situation where the heroine wants to be intimate with the anti-hero, but she doesn’t want to want it. There is dubious consent, though I think that happens in many of the captive romance genre. It also included the characters from the Twist Me and the Capture Me trilogies. Anna Zaires does captive romance well and this one was all that and a bag of chips. Though it didn’t take too long to get used to the narration and the storylines were good. Though he did have a pretty good Russian accent There was nothing specific I didn’t like about the female narrator, but I think it was the way she spoke really fast and slowed down at the end of each sentence. I love a deep voice in a man and this guy had a very deep one, Though he sounded like he was a smoker, He had the kind of gravelly voice that isn’t sexy gravelly, but well past middle aged, longtime smoker gravelly. The book is in Dual POV and there were two narrators, neither of which I completely liked off the bat. However, when they were taken from him, that died also and he lived for revenge In his job he did things like torture terrorists and his time with his wife and son kept some humanity in him. At that time he worked for a special unit of the Spetsnaz, the Russian Special forces. The Story: The book starts with the Hero suffering the loss of his wife and young son. They are wanted by international authorities and between jobs they have been working through a list of people they are getting revenge on. ![]() The Hero(es): Peter Sokolov – he and his team are assassins that get over a million dollars a job. The whole thing about her husband is confusing at first. Sara feels a great deal of guilt over the accident. Sara Cobakis – she is sleep deprived, something happened to her husband George in some sort of auto accident. ![]() But the nightmare doesn’t end there.īecause Peter Sokolov returns, and this time, he’s determined to keep the pretty young doctor for himself.ĭon’t miss this twisted, intensely addictive dark romance that readers can’t stop obsessing over. Sara Cobakis’s quiet suburban life is turned upside down when a darkly handsome Russian assassin breaks into her home and tortures her for information. The innocent woman standing in his way.ĭr.
